Hi my name is Darby Dove
The heart and face behind As One Weddings. I’m a qualified registered nurse by profession and now officially a marriage celebrant by passion. Though these two professions might seem worlds apart, these two paths share more common ground than you might think. Being a nurse definitely plays a big hand in
making me a good celebrant for my clients, because I know that I come from a place of empathy, understanding and the ability to stay cool under pressure–all invaluable traits when it comes to crafting your perfect day.
So, why did I become a celebrant? Planning my own wedding gave me the "love bug," and it turned out to be the most incredible day of my life. Because my own wedding wasn’t just about falling in love all over again with that special someone, but also discovering my newfound love for the planning of it all! I knew I wanted to create once-in-a-lifetime memories not only for me but for everyone wanting help creating theirs, because no matter what, love is love.
When I’m not busy wearing scrubs or curating memories, you can find me taking my beloved Golden Retriever out for a stroll or soaking in the lovely Gold Coast sun.
However, I do have some flaws, I can’t build flat packs, I’m awful at fractions and I can barely bake a banana bread. But the things you are passionate about in life are the things you do best. Being your celebrant is what I do best.
